My name is Aryan Sabir and I am a second year medical student at The University of Cambridge living locally in Horndean. As part of our course, we are required to find short placements over the summer, one at a voluntary organisation and one at an organisation providing complementary therapy. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are perfect examples of the latter category and both are treatments that I have always been interested in investigating further. Therefore, I was writing to enquire if it would be feasible to visit your clinic some time over the Summer.

The aim of the coursework is to find out about organisations offering alternative healthcare, particularly from a patient's point of view, since in the future we will be treating patients in synergy. The placements need only be half a day each but I am happy to stay for a whole day, or a few days or to pop in for various appointments over a week or two.

I am fully CRB/DBS checked and can provide proof of this if required if you are happy to consider taking me on.

I understand that some clients are more comfortable than others with other people sitting in on their appointments and that consent is vital in any aspect of health care and medicine. Therefore, I am happy to leave the room if the client is not comfortable me being there and only sit in on appointments where the client is happy me being there.

I am largely available from now until mid September. If you happen to have any appropriate times within this window where a visit would be possible then that would be fantastic.

Again, I completely understand if this isn't something you offer, but if it is then it would be a massive help and extremely interesting experience.
